Mike Coots is an award-winning photographer, shark attack survivor, and devoted ocean advocate. Born and raised on the shores of Kaua‘i, Hawaii, his life changed forever when he lost his leg in a shark attack at 18. Rather than turn away from the ocean, he dove back in—camera in hand—to capture intimate images of the very animals that changed his life. Through powerful visuals and passionate advocacy, Mike challenges perceptions of sharks and uses his story to inspire empathy, awareness, and conservation.
